The SPFL Betting Preview: Week Ten

In terms of correct tips, it hasn’t been a great start to the season for me so I’m going to try something a little different this weekend. Previously, I’d been finding some big priced winners but was being let down by them with the treble. Instead, I’m going to suggest doubles and a treble because I’m predicting some shocks.

First up, I fancy Raith Rovers to beat Hamilton Academical at 31/10. At McBookie, we’re the shortest price at 5/1 for Rovers to win the league and I believe the market is still underestimating them. Grant Murray’s side are serious title contenders and there’s no way Hamilton should be odds on for the game, despite their good start to the season.

In League 1, I’m backing East Fife to beat Dunfermline Athletic at 21/4. The Pars have been blowing hot and cold all season and, despite their poor start, I reckon East Fife might just represent some value. They have a core of experienced players and they should start clicking together soon – let’s just hope it all comes together on Saturday.

Last of all, I reckon Queen’s Park will win at East Stirlingshire at 31/10. If the match had taken place last season then the odds might have been the other way around (QP have won their last four matches at Ochilview), but the Spiders will have taken confidence from last weekend’s Scottish Cup win over Preston Athletic. Although they haven’t turned the corner just yet, they are making signs of improvement.

This week’s McBookie bet: for a £10 stake – £3 doubles and a £1 treble will provide a £309 profit and a return if just two of the three teams win.

If Tell Him He's Pelé were a boy band, they would probably be the much-missed One True Voice, both in terms of appearance and musical output.
