The SPFL Betting Preview: Week Six

I though we were all in for a bumper pay day last week… But ten-man Elgin City managed to come back to equalise with Montrose and scupper the treble. Such is life.

This week, I am backing Raith Rovers to beat Alloa Athletic at even money. I’ve been impressed with Rovers this season and think that Kevin Moon and Joe Cardle have been excellent signings. Following their win over Queen of the South last weekend, we cut their odds of winning The Championship from 20/1 to 10/1 – I think they can continue their good form.

In League 1, I’m backing Dunfermline Athletic to beat Airdrieonians and 13/20. The price is quite short, but the rest of the games in the division look difficult to call – I’m hoping this one is a straightforward win. I’m still a little worried about the Pars defensively and I hope this game won’t let me down.

Finally, I’m going for Annan Athletic to beat Clyde at 3/4. Annan are sure to challenge for a League 2 play-off place, but if they’re to challenge for the league then this is the kind of game they need to win. With David Hopkirk having started the season in great form, I’m confident they will win.

This week’s McBookie treble gives a respectable £47.75 profit for a £10 stake.

Tell Him He's Pelé

If Tell Him He's Pelé were a boy band, they would probably be the much-missed One True Voice, both in terms of appearance and musical output.
