The SPFL Betting Preview: Week Eight

First of all, I am backing Dundee to beat Cowdenbeath at 3/4. The Dees got back to winning ways last week and are now back to favourites to win the league. Craig Beattie got on the score sheet and it will be interesting to see what type of partnership he can form with Peter MacDonald. Cowdenbeath were woeful last week so this looks a good price.

In League 1, I like the look of Brechin City to beat Airdrieonians at 8/5. A win should see them enter the play-off spots and, whilst they have failed to justify their pre-season odds so far, they should still be strong enough to claim victory over Airdrie, who have won only once in the league so far this season.

Finally, Stenhousemuir to beat East Fife at 4/5 makes up the treble. Stenny will have been embarrassed by their 8-0 thrashing last week and pride will want to see them put in a better performance. They had been one of the form teams in the league up until the Rangers game and they will be determined to prove that the result at Ibrox doesn’t puncture their prospects.

This week’s McBookie treble: Dundee, Brechin City and Stenhousemuir provide £69.63 profit for a £10 stake.

If Tell Him He's Pelé were a boy band, they would probably be the much-missed One True Voice, both in terms of appearance and musical output.
