OK, the gloves are off, I’m going straight in.
First up, there is Falkirk to beat Cowdenbeath at 8/11. The Bairns failed to take advantage of Dundee’s slip up last week but they are still very much in the title hunt. Gary Holt’s side beat Cowden 4-0 back in November and are now on an impressive eight match unbeaten run.
Next, I am looking at Ayr United to beat Brechin City at 23/20. They will be without suspended top scorer Michael Moffatt but they still have enough firepower up front to be able to cope. Brechin have had a disaster of a season so far and it is telling that they have released so many players recently. There is a lot of work to be done and home advantage can count for Ayr.
Finally, I am backing Annan Athletic to beat Clyde at 4/5. Annan are now the nearest challengers to Peterhead for the title and would go top if they won their game in hand. It will be five successive wins if they pick up three points on Saturday and are clearly the form team. Clyde, on the other hand, are now heading in the other direction. Many felt that they were punching above their weight but if they can make the play-offs it would still be a fantastic achievement.
This week’s McBookie treble: a combination of victories for Falkirk, Ayr United and Annan Athletic gives an exact £56.85 profit for putting on a cheeky tenner.
