The SPFL Betting Preview: Week 18

Have a good Christmas? Fantastic. In this week’s treble tip, I am backing Cowdenbeath in the Championship to beat Queen of the South at 12/5. The Blue Brazil got a draw against Raith Rovers and beat Dundee in their last two games, and in Kane Hemmings have one of the best forwards in the league on top form. Queens were supposed to be challenging at the top end of the table but haven’t been able to make the step up –  I think the price is too big for a home win and is too good to turn down.

Next, I am going for Ayr United to beat East Fife at 17/20.  The Honest Men are still very much in the mix to finish second in the league and had a great result against Forfar last time out. Gary Naysmith still has a lot of work to do at East Fife and whilst the vibes have been positive, I don’t think they will get anything from this game.

Finally, I am backing Albion Rovers to beat Queens Park at 3/4. Things haven’t been right with the Spiders all season and it was no surprise to see Gardner Spiers move on last week. What was surprising was that they let him take charge of the Berwick Rangers game if they had already decided he was being sacked – having not yet appointed a replacement, they don’t seem to be going into the match with the greatest sense of organisation, so Albion Rovers look great value at a shade of odds on.

This week’s McBookie treble scores a bumper £100 profit for a £10 stake on wins for Cowdenbeath, Ayr United and Albion Rovers.

If Tell Him He's Pelé were a boy band, they would probably be the much-missed One True Voice, both in terms of appearance and musical output.
