SFL Betting Preview: Week Six

RANGERS were 100/1 for the quadruple at the beginning of the season, but there is no way their backers would have thought it would be the Ramsdens Cup where they would falter first. I can imagine the sponsors were also hoping for Rangers to make the final and give them some increased exposure. However, if the betting is to be believed then they will have to make do with Partick Thistle taking on Queen of the South final. Once again, McBookie are the only firm offering prices on the competition so make sure you check out the prices on the website.

I found it difficult to believe that after finding a 9/4 winner with Elgin last week, I was let down on my treble by Stranraer. Hopefully I can produce the goods for this Saturday…

Raith Rovers were one of the teams who did me a favour last week and I’m on them again, away to Morton, at a tempting 11/5. I received counsel that Rovers are likely to finish in the top three this season and that the bookies are still underestimating them.  I am inclined to agree.

In the Second Division, I’m hoping Albion Rovers don’t ruin my treble again, because I’m on Stenhousemuir at 11/10. The Warriors have been very unpredictable so far this season so I’m hoping to catch them on a good day.

Finally, in the Third Division, I’m backing Peterhead to get back to winning ways. It will be a long trek to Annan Athletic, but at 5/4 I think they represent good value. Annan will be on a high after their point against Rangers but they will be expected to attack more in this game, which will play to Peterhead’s advantage.

This week’s McBookie treble: wins for Raith Rovers, Stenhousemuir and Peterhead give £141.20 profit for a £10 stake.

Tell Him He's Pelé

If Tell Him He's Pelé were a boy band, they would probably be the much-missed One True Voice, both in terms of appearance and musical output.
