Advocates of a winter break will be in their element over the next month, as the snow falls over Scotland. Hopefully most of the games in the SFL will beat the weather but I imagine some of them will fall by the wayside.
First up, I am backing Partick Thistle to beat Cowdenbeath at 8/11. While I don’t think they will be too bothered about losing in the cup last week, they will still be eager to get back to winning ways. They have beaten Cowdenbeath twice already this season, and I fully expect a hat-trick.
Next I am on East Fife to beat Stranraer at 10/11. Billy Brown has made an immediate impact and this is another chance for them to pull further away from the bottom of the table. Liam Gormley looks a good signing and they should be too strong for Stranraer.
In the Third Division, I am backing Montrose to beat East Stirlingshire at even money. They have played more games than anyone else in the league but they are still doing fantastically well to be near the top of the table. In Leighton McIntosh, they have a striker who is clearly capable of playing at a higher level – hopefully he can get the goals to win the game.
This week’s McBookie treble: Partick Thistle, East Fife and Montrose give £55.95 profit for a £10 stake.
