LAST weekend, I took a punt on Stenhousemuir and unfortunately they failed to deliver.
Hopefully there will be some joy this weekend, and first up I’m backing Greenock Morton to beat Cowdenbeath at odds of 8/13. The Ton had a terrific result against Dumbarton last Saturday and scored five goals in the process – and that was without top scorer Archie Campbell. Although he may miss the weekend’s game, it proves they have plenty goals elsewhere.
Next, I am on Stranraer to bear Albion Rovers at odds of 11/10. Both teams face a relegation battle and a win for either side would be a great boost. I just feel that Stranraer have been playing well in recent weeks – they were unlucky to lose to Ayr and Arbroath, on both occasions conceding last minute goals. They will know how important this game is and I believe they can pick up all three points
Finally, the fixtures are all over the place in the Third Division but I’m sticking to a Saturday game by backing Annan Athletic to beat Clyde at 8/15. They will miss the goals of David Hopkirk (he has been recalled to Queen of the South) but they should still be too strong for a struggling Clyde side.
This week’s McBookie treble: Greenock Morton, Stranraer and Annan Athletic give £42.02 for a £10 stake.
