Despite his relatively young age, it feels as though Greig Spence has been in the game for a long time. The young forward has experienced a lot in his 22 years, from his rise to prominence as a youngster with Alloa Athletic, to his move to Celtic, to his Challenge Cup triumph with Raith Rovers last term. You name it – Spence has probably seen it already.
Spence is in good form as he joins Craig G Telfer for the latest edition of the Pelé Podcast. He reflects on his formative years under Allan Maitland at Recreation Park and his big-money move to Celtic. Spence then recounts his three years with the Hoops, discussing his team-mates, his injuries, and his frustrating loan spell with Hamilton Academical in 2011-12.
He talks about his move to Raith Rovers and his two seasons in Kirkcaldy, the second of which culminated in last term’s marvelous Challenge Cup win over Rangers. Having returned to Clackmannanshire, Spence finishes by looking forward to the weekend’s final between Alloa and Livingston. Can he do it two years in a row?
This is a fantastic podcast and one of the best in the show’s short history.
