Episode 54: David Weatherston (Part Five)

We’ve made it! To everyone who’s stuck with us for the last three-and-a-half hours: thank you. This is the fifth and final installment of our Pelé Podcast with David Weatherston and covers the latter part of his career – his return to part-time football and his move to Norway in 2016.

Speaking with Craig G Telfer, David begins by discussing his move to League 2 Stirling Albion in the summer of 2013. After initially struggling with injury and a loss of form, he talks about his successful partnership with Jordan White and how the pair helped fire the Binos to promotion via the play-offs.

David then goes on to look back on a miserable season with Alloa Athletic, one which he barely featured and where his manager didn’t even know his name, and the unremarkable 2015/16 season with Brechin City that saw the team engineer an astounding survival bid over the latter months of the campaign.

He finishes by talking about moving to Norway, the lifestyle in his new country and their attitudes towards football, as well as looking back on the last 20 years.

Brilliant stuff – credit again to David for talking to us.

If Tell Him He's Pelé were a boy band, they would probably be the much-missed One True Voice, both in terms of appearance and musical output.
