Episode 49: Michael Dunlop (Part Three)

War and PeaceInfinite Jest and Ulysses: what do they all have in common? They’re all very long… but they’re not quite as long as the Pelé Podcast starring legendary defender Mick Dunlop.

The final installment of his interview sees the player looking back over the last five years of his career, starting with his move to Albion Rovers and finishing with last season’s promotion at Stenhousemuir. Sitting with Craig G Telfer, Mick remembers how he joined the Rovers – his brother’s move to the club played no small part – and their incredible cup runs, featuring games against Celtic and Rangers. He also discusses their title win of 2014/15 and reflects on how the league was won.

Mick then goes on to talk about his 12 months at Stenhousemuir. He looks back on an up-and-down season that ultimately ended with promotion to League 1 and the two goals that won his team the play-offs.

This could well be the best episode of the Pelé Podcast to date – Mick is in good form as he looks back on his favourite period of his long career and talks with real passion about the big games and big moments.

Tell Him He's Pelé

If Tell Him He's Pelé were a boy band, they would probably be the much-missed One True Voice, both in terms of appearance and musical output.
