Episode 37: Scott McLaughlin 2 (Part Three)

The third and final part of Scott McLaughlin’s Pelé Podcast sees the player looking back over the latter part of his career, from January 2015 to the present day.

Speaking with Craig G Telfer, Scott begins by remembering his move from Ayr United to Clyde under Barry Ferguson and the intensity of working under such a demanding manager. He remembers the constant churn of players and systems during his two-and-a-half years at Broadwood and touches on a number of his team-mates, including the late Chris Mitchell and David Goodwillie.

Scott then looks back at a disappointing 12 months at Albion Rovers under Brian Kerr and Stuart Malcolm, which ended in the club’s relegation to League 2. He also discusses the Daily Record’s curious fly-on-the-wall documentary about the team’s struggle.

He then finishes with a world-class anecdote about the maverick’s maverick: Paul Slane.

If Tell Him He's Pelé were a boy band, they would probably be the much-missed One True Voice, both in terms of appearance and musical output.
