Episode 29: Neil Parry (Part One)

If you’re going to have a goalkeeper on your show for the first time, why not invite along the best part-time goalkeeper in the country!

Alloa Athletic’s Neil Parry joins the Pelé Podcast, all 6ft 5in of him, to look back on a career that’s taken him all the way from junior football into the Championship. Neil starts by talking through pre-season training with the Wasps before reflecting on how his spells with Petershill and Arthurlie in junior (and a couple of months at Stenhousemuir) set him on his way.

He then looks back at his first two seasons in the SFL with Queen’s Park and discusses playing alongside Andy Robertson, Davie Anderson and a host of talented footballers, and how the side could never quite navigate their way through the play-offs.

Neil spends time talking about his move to Albion Rovers and talks through their fantastic Scottish Cup run of 2013/14 and their League 2 triumph the following year.

If Tell Him He's Pelé were a boy band, they would probably be the much-missed One True Voice, both in terms of appearance and musical output.
